Are you staying in Akumal and looking to experience some of the incredible nature of the Riviera Maya? Say no more! The "Uxuxubí Al Natural" Reserve is one of the best birding spots in the Yucatan Peninsula!

This reserve has 13,000 hectares of well preserved forest with a small Mayan community living there.
With a grand total of 258 bird species, two ponds and one open cenote this is one of the top birding destinations for birders visiting the Yucatan peninsula.

Species likely to be seen:
Plain Chachalaca, Ocellated Turkey, Red-billed Pigeon, Groove-billed Ani, Squirrel Cuckoo, Wedge-tailed Sabrewing, White-bellied Emerald, Roadside Hawk, Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl, Black-headed Trogon, Gartered Trogon, Turquoise-browed Motmot, Keel-billed Toucan, Yucatan Woodpecker, Lineated Woodpecker, Barred Antshrike, Ivory-billed Woodcreeper, Northern Tropical Pewee, Yucatan Jay, Black Catbird, Orange Oriole, Red-throated Ant-Tanager, Morelet's Seedeater and more.

Logistics: You can arrive in the reserve and meet with our local guide there or we can pick you up in Akumal, take you birding into the reserve and back to your hotel in Akumal. We can offer pick ups in Playa del Carmen/Tulum with an additional fee.
